Betül Sarıkaya has been appointed as an Independent Board Member of Aydem Renewables, Türkiye’s largest company generating electricity entirely from renewable resources. With this appointment, the number of female members on our 8-member Board of Directors has increased to five.
A change has taken place in our Company’s Board of Directors regarding independent membership. Bringing extensive experience in the energy and finance sectors, Betül Sarıkaya has assumed her role as an Independent Board Member.
Previously recognized by the 30% Club Türkiye with the “Gender Balanced Board” award, our Board of Directors has further strengthened female representation, with the number of female members reaching five.
About Betül Sarıkaya
Betül Sarıkaya possesses extensive experience in senior management and board-level roles across the energy and finance sectors. Following her undergraduate degree in Political Science and Public Administration from Middle East Technical University (METU), she completed the Executive MBA program at Koç University. Sarıkaya further enhanced her professional development through leadership and business programs at Harvard University and IMD.
Sarıkaya began her career at PwC, where she held roles in the firm’s Ankara, Istanbul, and Houston offices. She later served as CFO of SOCAR Türkiye’s Natural Gas Business Unit, overseeing the financial management of large-scale energy operations; she also led finance, audit, and governance processes in strategic projects such as the STAR Refinery and TANAP.
Currently serving as CFO of the Turkish Investment Fund, Betül Sarıkaya stands out with her expertise in corporate finance, risk management, project finance, and mergers and acquisitions. Actively serving on boards of directors and audit committees, she focuses on corporate governance, transparency, and sustainability.
